Football for Beginners In Cobham

We Make Footballers
24 April 2024

If you’ve got a football mad child in the Cobham area, then the time might have come for them to start learning how to play the sport. Deciding where they should do this can often be a difficult choice; after all, you want their first experience of playing the beautiful game to be a positive one.

Thankfully, there are plenty of good football clubs and academies in Surrey with whom your child can begin their football journey. Here are three of the best ways to introduce beginnings to football in Cobham.

We Make Footballers Cobham

We Make Footballers run coaching sessions for players aged between 4 and 12. Their aim is to provide football in a fun and safe environment, believing that children learn and develop at a faster rate when they are enjoying the sport.

Each session is led by FA Qualified Coaches who will help a child master the basics of the sport. As they progress, they can benefit from 1v1 coaching sessions to improve areas of weakness and a tailor-made coaching plan can be developed.

We Make Footballers can also recommend young players to grassroots clubs in the area when they are ready to make the move into competitive football. They even have links forged with professional academies, opening the door for the most gifted to try and fulfil their dreams of making it in the game.

The We Make Footballers Cobham Academy is based at Felton Fleet School on Saturdays. The first session is free, allowing you and your child to see what all the fuss about.

Little Kickers

Little Kickers started in the UK in 2002 by Christine Stanschus, a mum who struggled to find pre-school football classes for her child. So, she decided to do it herself.

Christine focused on building a brand around “fun first” making sure she worked with experts in child development as well as FA qualified football coaches. Together they created programmes that would deliver high quality football skills, combined with important pre-school learning concepts such as colour and number recognition, sharing, following instructions and using imagination. With a network of 2,250 coaches and over 300 franchises in 32 countries, they are now one of the world’s biggest and most successful pre-school football academy.

There are four different classes tailored specifically to the needs of children between 18 months and eighth birthday. Encouraging a positive first introduction to sports by teaching football in a friendly, pressure-free environment.
