WMF Cobham – Host Our Sessions

28 November 2025

There is something uniquely uplifting about the sound of children laughing and running across a football pitch, learning not only how to kick a ball but how to support one another, listen, and grow together. At We Make Footballers (WMF) Cobham, this is the heart of everything we do. For over ten years, We Make Footballers has been helping children aged 4 to 12 fall in love with the game, and we’re now looking to bring this passion to even more communities in the Cobham area. But to do that, we need your help.

If you manage or represent a venue with a sports hall, outdoor pitch, or even a school with access to indoor and outdoor facilities, we’d love for you to consider partnering with us to host our football coaching sessions.

What We’re Looking For

Our requirements are simple and community-friendly. We’re seeking a venue to hire for approximately 39 weeks of the year, aligning with school terms. Ideally, the space would be available:

  • For 2 to 4 hours on Saturday or Sunday mornings between 9am and 1pm

  • For 2 to 3 hours on weekday evenings between 5pm and 9pm

The ideal venue would include a sports hall roughly the size of two to four badminton courts, nearby car parking, and on-site toilets. If there’s an outdoor pitch available for use in warmer months, that’s an added bonus. Storage space for equipment would also be greatly appreciated, though we’re more than happy to supply our own secure outdoor storage unit if needed.

Why Host WMF Cobham?

Hosting WMF Cobham sessions isn’t just a rental agreement. It’s a community partnership.

We bring with us a strong ethos rooted in youth development, sportsmanship, and local engagement. Each week, our sessions welcome children of all abilities into an environment where they can make friends, build confidence, and develop resilience through the power of football.

As a thank-you for your support, WMF Cobham offers:

  • Two free football coaching sessions for students at your school or community group

  • Paid work experience for 16+ students or staff interested in football coaching, with the potential to join our wider team of enthusiastic and trained coaches

Not only are you supporting local children’s health and social development, but you’re also providing pathways for young adults to gain real-world coaching experience in a nurturing, professional environment.

A Track Record You Can Trust

We are proud to coach over 5,000 children each week across the UK and have built a reputation for professionalism, respect, and community-mindedness. As Bob Blackett, Facility Manager at Chiswick School, shared:

“The guys from We Make Footballers have been brilliant tenants. They are respectful to our staff, tidy and always pay their invoices on time. We have worked with them for the past four years and look forward to many more”.

This kind of feedback is a reflection of how seriously we take our partnerships and the pride we place in being reliable, courteous collaborators.

Supporting Local Events and Holidays

We don’t just run weekly training. WMF Cobham hosts exciting events like Talent ID days during half-term and summer breaks, where children can showcase their skills in front of professional scouts. These events are not only thrilling for participants but bring families together and highlight the talent that exists right here in our local community.

We’re also eager to get involved with your school fetes, sports days, and local celebrations. Whether it's setting up a football challenge game or running a mini coaching session, we love being part of the events that make Cobham such a special place to live and learn.

Football: More Than a Game

Studies consistently show that sport is vital for childhood development. According to the Youth Sport Trust, children involved in regular physical activity show improved academic performance, mental wellbeing, and social skills. Football, in particular, teaches teamwork, discipline, and resilience — essential life skills in any setting. At WMF Cobham, we take this responsibility seriously, providing a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Get Involved

If you think your school, community centre, or sports facility could host our sessions, we’d love to hear from you. Hosting WMF Cobham is an opportunity to give back, inspire the next generation, and be part of a movement that brings communities together through football.
